Hi! I am Belle, the face of Leela Words. As a child, I kept many handwritten diaries, as a student, I very much enjoyed writing and editing essays, and as a traveler, I spent my time blogging. After several detours, I completed the Master’s program in Communication and Information Sciences – with a specialization in Writing and Translation – and turned my love of language into my profession.
I am interested in topics such as inclusion, sustainability, traveling, personal growth, and societal developments. With my academic background, I am skilled in editing and translating scholarly articles in social sciences. Eager to learn and curious as I am, I love immersing myself in a variety of topics in my work as a freelance copywriter and editor. As a part-time communication officer at the bilingual Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Amsterdam, my responsibilities include writing and editing online copy and news articles, creating newsletters for various audiences, online marketing, and writing texts for booklets, posters, and other print copy. In addition, I ‘deliver’ yoga classes at the office in Amsterdam with Leela Yoga. I thoroughly enjoy moving people through this creative combination.
